About us

Michelle and Carol have been close friends in ministry and life for many years. Both have been frequent guest speakers at University classes, professional conferences and have served as Retreat Leaders. They have written and co-authored several works including, "We Hold Our Stories in Blankets" in Women out of Order: Risking Change and Creating Care in a Multicultural World, (2009) and "Seeing Through American Indian Eyes" in Women With 2020 Vision, 2020.

Michelle Oberwise Lacock, Sycamore UMC

Michelle, an Ordained Elder in the Northern Illinois Conference of the United Methodist Church,  brings experience serving as and educator, local church pastor, chaplain, and supervisor. Michelle plays the French Horn and directs a choir. She is an ACPE Certified Educator and is a Certified Associate Coach by the International Coaching Federation.

Michelle has her  B.A. and M.A. in Music Education from Illinois State University, her M.B.A in Leadership from Aurora University, her M.Div. from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary and her D.Min. in Pastoral Care and Counseling from the Graduate Theological Foundation.

Carol Lakota Eastin, National CONAM Conference

Carol, an Ordained Elder in the Illinois Great Rivers Conference (UMC), brings experience as a local church pastor, a missionary, District Superintendent, Pastoral Counselor in Clinical Settings, and as a coach. A church planter, Carol was the founding pastor of a Contextual Native American UMC church, enhancing Christian faith with the unique cultural expressions of indigenous people. Carol loves the arts and history, sings and plays the guitar. 

Carol has her B.A. in Music Education and Psychology from MacMurray College, her M.Div., M.A. in Christian Education from Methodist Theological School In Ohio and a M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Illinois State University.
